Brief explanation of CounsellingEssentially, the work of Counselling and Psychotherapy is about
exploring and changing how we live our lives.
It is about considering our current thinking and
behaviour patterns and
working towards new ways of addressing life.
Most importantly, it is about doing that within
a supportive environment.
..... and the Psychotherapy part?
There is quite a bit of cross-over between
counselling and psychotherapy,
however, psychotherapy is seen as a
deeper way of working with issues -
more of a re-working of old, unhelpful,
but well-learned, habits, patterns and
reactions to situations.
While it will likely take longer, the resultant
changes are, also, usually more long-term.
